After a stint at art collage and in and out of various bands Andy at the age 20 signed a publishing deal with Rondor music London as a composer and songwriter. Around the same time he co-founded and toured the world with his 80’s chart topping band Immaculate Fools.
He was also busy as a session musician. Playing guitar on recordings with the likes of Paul McCartney, David Gilmour, Tori Amos, Howard Jones and many others.
As a record producer he has over 180 record production credits to his name across many styles, alt rock albums, to ballet scores, to one-off commissions for arts organisations.
His first film, Well Beyond Water won him Best Short Film at the Reel Earth Environmental International Film Festival and has now gone on to be used by many environmental organisations around the world. Including ‘The International Centre for Climate Governance’
At present Andy is promoting his major new project THE FEAR ENGINE. Which he describe as “a metaphor for the drivers of our unconscious fears” It is an unusual combination of concept album and documentary film which together explore his life long interest in the psychologies and pathologies that drive our behaviours
Andy comes from an impeccable musical pedigree. His father, renowned jazz saxophonist, Ronnie Ross worked with the likes of Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles; taught David Bowie to play sax; and played the famous sax solo on Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side’
